In this lesson, students will use a variety of skills in order to
understand the immigrant experience for those arriving at Ellis Island
at the turn of the 19th century. Students will watch a video of a firsthand
account of an immigrant's voyage to Ellis Island, understand the
push/pull factors for the immigrant, and view images in 3D/AR. By the
end of this lesson, students will understand why people left their
country and what they endured in order to achieve their dream of
living in America.
